Is AI Infrastructure or Innovation?

At IHTL we define AI as the “The Strategic operating infrastructure for today’s organisations and the innovation which emerges from what organisations build on top of that infrastructure”. We have designed and trademarked a framework and methodologies, IHTL FLAIR, IHTL TRUST and IHTL ACTIV8, which together guide organisations towards becoming AI native with a “Governance from day 1” methodology.

The issue of Governance is the core to our approach as an AI Transformation Consultancy and our pitches are usually to the Boards of organisations. Boards are responsible for infrastructure, and we believe that AI is operating infrastructure and not fashionable innovation. AI affects decision-making, workflows, compliance, data use, security, and operating resilience, strategic responsibilities of Boards. So, the business case not the technical solution must be communicated in the non-technical language of Boards; KPI, Risk, COGS, ROI, Profit and so on. Once you have the buy in of the Board (which usually includes CXOs), the mission becomes clear to the C-Suite towards the next step in the AI transformation.
